Pet Supplier Store Experience

I purchased some pet supplies from which is supposedly one of the top pet supply sites on the internet.  I ordered the following on July 10, 2012:

When I placed the order there was no mention of the Whisper Bio-Bags beings backordered or I would have never ordered them.  It was never mentioned on the items page nor during the order process.   What kind of pet store can't even have the most common filter cartridge in stock?  And not in stock again for one month!  Do they get them from China or some other nation with cheap foreign labor?  Also what incompetent employees let something run out that will take a month to re-order?  Some sites love to hold on to the order until they get the items in stock.  In this case it would have been almost a month!  Sites like will ship what is available immediately.   Also the cost supplier can be slightly cheaper at Amazon due to free shipping on orders over $25.  Also most sites don't charge your credit card until the order is shipped.  Doctors Foster And Smith charged my card immediately, and just decided to sit on the order with no explanation.  If I hadn't logged into my online account to check on the order status I wouldn't have known the item was out of stock.  It took me one email, one online chat, and one phone call to cancel the order.  Although as of yet the money still hasn't been refunded to my credit card.  I also requested that they delete my online account with them because of their amazing lack of customer service, and apparent greed that pushed them to charge a card on an order they seemingly were going to wait one month to ship out.  There have also been a few problems in the past as well so I've had enough of them.  This includes the lag time to load pages on their website.  Naturally as a consumer I don't have the option to delete my own account as the almighty corporations hold all the power over humanity on this planet!  We'll see if they ever refund my money and delete my account.  Many companies are notorious for holding onto an order for dear life, and it's like pulling teeth to get a refund.  A number of sites on the internet have been disappointing, and in the end I guess I should just stick with Amazon which I've never had an issue with in over 10 years.  I say avoid and go with the major website stores, or local pet stores.

Update: Refunded my credit card.  They still haven't deleted my account, and still haven't God forbid graced me with any personal correspondence of their annoying incompetence!  Put a delete button in people's accounts!  Do you assume you're so great that you can't fathom someone wanting to delete their data off your damn website!!!!  Must we be on their site for all eternity?
